Home Theater and Home Entertainment

 

In addition to its picture screen and its sound system your Home Theater and Home Entertainment system should have other features that will make it more enjoyable and easier to use.

HOME AUTOMATION  If your home theater system is integrated with your home automation system, you will be able to turn on the monitor, the surround sound system, the satellite receiver, the VCR and dim the lights, with the push of one button on your remote control. If you are away from home and there is a movie or a show you wish to record, and you didn't program the VCR in advance, the home automation system will be able to do this for you, by calling home and telling it to do so.

VIDEO DISTRIBUTION  Home Theater and Home Entertainment systems can be integrated into your home, so that the equipment is not only used in one room but through out the home. For example the DVD player, Satellite Dish and VCR may be seen in the Home Theater Room, but may also be seen in the kitchen, bedrooms, home office or anywhere else in the home. This is done by having your own local channels. Each piece of video equipment will be assigned its own unique channel. By selecting that particular channel, you may be able to see anything from anywhere.

IR REPEATER SYSTEM  If you are watching in your bedroom, what is playing on the VCR in the Family room downstairs, you will be able to control the VCR (fast forward, pause, rewind, etc.) from the bedroom if you have an infra red (IR) repeater system integrated into your entertainment system. The repeater system will also allow you to operate all the functions of the DVD player, the Satellite dish and any other equipment that uses IR control.
