The most commonly automated system in a home is the lights. You will never have to enter a dark home again. You will be able to have the lights turn on when you want. The lights may be controlled by a master unit that will know your everyday routine. If you should have to work late, you may override your program by calling your home, and telling it to do so.
The lights may also be controlled by hand held remotes or table top controllers. In your living room you may want to dim or brighten a light while you are sitting in your favorite chair. Just hit a few buttons on the same remote you use to control your television and you can set the light level as you desire.
When you retire for the evening you may walk safely through your house
with the lights on until you arrive at your bedroom. On the night stand
next to your bed, you can then press one button that will shut all the lights in
the house. Should you need in an emergency to have all the lights turned on,
just hit another button on the table top controller and all your lights will be
turned on immediately.
